Beginner moves:
SIDE TO SIDE
ARMJIVE
WURLITZER
Tips when doing these moves.
Men make sure that you keep your left hand low as you do the Side to Side and always make sure you face your partner as you step back as it confuses the lady when you try to take your hand through having stepped back sideways on to her.
Men keep your hands at waist height to twist from side to side during the Armjive.
Men make sure when doing the Wurlitzer that you face the lady as you step in to prepare the lady for the spin, also facing her as you push forward and down to turn the lady a quarter turn away from you. Always throw your hand across as waist height to spin the lady.
Intermediate moves:
ARMJIVE AROUND THE WORLD
WURLITZER WRAP & WHIP WINDER
HAMMERLOCK BLOCK
Tips when doing these moves
When doing the Armjive Around the World, make sure that you both relax both arms as you change places back to back so not to hurt the shoulders.
Step in side by side to do the Wurlitzer Wrap and Whip Winder. On the next beat men push forward and down as they change places with the lady making sure that they twist their right hand at waist height to turn the lady CW until she ends up in a nelson position with her left arm. A walk around takes place before the man turns ACW to face.
For the Hammerlock Block, men use a bowling action to turn the lady CW under their left arm. The man then turn a half turn CW to lower his left arm into a nelson position. He then quickly steps forward to change places with the lady as he steps around her in a CW direction so that he is to her left side. He then pulls the lady back past his right side, without her turning and turns to face as he catches with 2 hands.
