Beginner moves:

PRETZEL

MAN SPIN

MAN GUITAR

Tips when doing these moves.

Make sure ladies, when doing the Pretzel that you fully relax your arms, as you may hurt yourself or your partner. Guys if the lady resists with her arms, abort the move so not to hurt her shoulders or your own.

When doing the Man Spin, men make sure you signal the move with your right palm facing the floor at waist height.

When doing the man guitar men need to make sure that they turn a 1/2 turn ACW to collect their lady, it is more common that a man tends not to turn in enough, making it difficult for the lady to get the message that she is doing a Man Guitar.

Intermediate moves:

PRETZEL SPIN VARIATION

MAN GUITAR MANHATTAN

COMB DUCK HIP HIP!

Tips when doing these moves

The Pretzel Spin variation involves the men turning the lady  a full turn clock wise after they have raised their right arm, then prepare the lady for a spin.

Man Guitar Manhattan involves the man holding on with his left hand as he turns the lady 1 1/2 turns CW. If he lets go she will spin away before the Manhattan, which will abort the move.

On the Comb Duck Hip Hip, men take two beats to duck under the ladies arm each time (duck under and up, duck under and up). Ladies the Hip Hip is for you to swing your hips slowly from side to side as the man ducks under your arm.

We really hope you enjoyed last weeks moves. Ask for help next week if you wish to recap them.

At Dance Verve we always incorporate two beginner moves and one intermediate move from the previous week's lesson, in order to refresh your last week's skills and to help you link them to new moves.

Remember to let us know if you have any feedback on the way we run the club and the music we play. All feedback, good or bad, is welcome, as we really want to make the club the best it can be for all our customers.
