Beginner moves:

SHOULDER WRAP

FIRST MOVE

TRAVELLING WURLITZER

Tips when doing these moves.

Ladies when doing the shoulder wrap make sure that you run your right hand down the man's back as you change places

When doing the First Move, men step back on their left foot as they turn the lady out. Try not to raise your left hand too high above the ladies head as you turn and return her, about an inch above her head is about right.

A Travelling Wurlitzer is the same as a normal Wurlitzer, but the man steps in side by side with the lady on beat 2 and swaps places with her as he pushes forward and down with his left hand to turn her out.

Intermediate moves:

SHOULDER WRAP MANHATTAN SURPRISE

TRAVELLING WURLITZER & BACK

BASKET SABOTAGE & COMB

Tips when doing these moves

With the Shoulder Wrap Manhatten Surprise, men make sure that  after you have wrapped to the shoulder you step forward to extend away, before you turn ACW to collect your lady into a ballroom frame or there will be no tension for you to turn and collect.

When doing the Travelling Wurlitzer & back it is as the beginner move but instead of spinning the lady the man uses a bowling action to turn the lady anticlockwise under his right arm as he then turns to face her and offers his left hand to her at about face height. The man then uses his left hand to turn the lady clockwise as they change places.

We really hope you enjoyed last weeks moves. Ask for help next week if you wish to recap them.

At Dance Verve we always incorporate two beginner moves and one intermediate move from the previous week's lesson, in order to refresh your last week's skills and to help you link them to new moves.

Remember to let us know if you have any feedback on the way we run the club and the music we play. All feedback, good or bad, is welcome, as we really want to make the club the best it can be for all our customers.
