Moves 10th April 2013

Beginner moves:

FIRST MOVE

OCTOPUS

PRETZEL

Tips when doing these moves.

When doing the First Move, men step back on their left foot as they turn the lady out. Ladies pivot around with the weight on your left foot then step back on your right foot once turned out. Remember ladies place their left hand on the man's nearest shoulder at this point.

The Octopus involves men changing places with the lady as she or he turns.

Make sure ladies, when doing the Pretzel that you fully relax your arms, as you may hurt yourself or your partner.

Intermediate moves:

FIRST MOVE REVERSE TO MANHATTAN

OCTOPUS REVOLVER

PRETZEL WHIP WINDING PRETZEL

Tips when doing these moves

When you do the First Move Reverse to Manhattan, men make sure you get out of the ladies way to allow her to return as you change places.

Ladies relax your arms for the Octopus Revolver. Men don't forget that you drop your left hand as you turn the lady on beat 5 of the move.

Pretzel Whip Winding Pretzel involves starting with a pretzel and turning the lady so her arm is in a 1/2 nelson position. After a short walk around it is the man who  lets go and offers his right hand over his left arm for the lady to take up. Then end is the same as for the end of a beginners pretzel.

We really hope you enjoyed last weeks moves. Ask for help next week if you wish to recap them.

At Dance Verve we always incorporate two beginner moves and one intermediate move from the previous week's lesson, in order to refresh your last week's skills and to help you link them to new moves.

Remember to let us know if you have any feedback on the way we run the club and the music we play. All feedback, good or bad, is welcome, as we really want to make the club the best it can be for all our customers.
